Amber has been training in Crossfit since 2013 becoming more competitive over the years.
Through CrossFit Amber gained drive, determination, confidence and a passionate love for what she was doing. These qualities blossomed in the gym while becoming most prominent in everyday life situations outside of the gym. With her growing passion for CrossFit, it felt only natural to pursue certification to have the ability to share with everyone the quality of life that CrossFit provides.
As a coach she brings forward perfection and precision working with people of all levels. She holds a level of understanding while working with beginners, understanding the nervousness, the excitement and the determination to progress. Her goal is to facilitate a life altering experience – physically, but also mentally. Watching athletes evolve, progress and show support toward one another is Amber’s number one motivator as a coach.
Since starting Crossfit in late 2013 to give myself a little extra fitness for soccer season, Crossfit has slowly become one of the things I am most passionate about in my life.
Looking back now, my personal journey and evolution has been drastic.
After umming and ahhhing about joining a local box for years I eventually took the plunge and was overwhelmed with how enriching and enjoyable the entire experience was.
Everything was so new. Double unders?? Overhead Squat? Get my toes to where?Coming in with a low body weight and terrible flexibility. I have started at the bottom. I know what it’s like to swing from the bar attempting to complete some, what feels like at the time impossible movement. I have put an empty Barbell above my head and got ‘stuck’ in the squat not even 10% of the way down.
What a difference 5 years has made. Without even realising it, I had gained basic proficiency in most movements.
My decision to start passing my knowledge onto the family around me was a natural progression. I did the Crossfit level 1 course at the beginning of 2017 and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. It gave me the tools to try pass on what knowledge I have but also a hunger to learn as much as I can. This is just the beginning.
It doesn’t always feel like you’re making progress, but every week we are all making minute steps in the right direction. If you put the effort in. The results will come.
